James took each of the kids out on a "daddy date" one day this weekend, for breakfast at a fancy brunch place in our neighborhood. His breakfast with Tuck was nice and low key. Tuck has started stuttering pretty majorly in the last week - we are officially ignoring it, on advice of his speech therapist, but it is hard to watch how frustrated he gets when trying to say things. We think it will pass. Emi went through about a month of this around age 2. Anyway, at breakfast with James on Saturday, Tuck talked fluently.

For some reason, James took it on himself to try to explain the financial crisis to Emi during their breakfast together on Sunday. I learned this when they returned and she summed it up like this: "Daddy told me that some people kept on lending money when they shouldn't have, so now the economy is in a financial! And some people are worried about their jobs stopping because of the financial."

James also reported the following comments at breakfast:
* Wow, does mom know about this? You should tell her!
* Why don't the newspapers write about this so people in other countries will learn about it and not do the same things wrong?
* I know! The people who have more money should share it with the people who have less money.

Indeed.
