Here is what Emi has figured out about dogs in the last week:
1. Zoey is a doggie. Or a "dog." Or a "doddy." Or a "dggy."
2. There are doggies depicted in leather applique on Emi's shoes (a mealtime discovery).
3. Some stuffed animals are also doggies.
4. Animals in the book "Good Night, Gorilla" may or may not also be doggies.
5. When adults are discussing dogs at someone else's house (Lori's mom's), you can make a big hit by bursting in with "doddy! doddy!"
6. Zoey is always there, suitable for greeting, when we return home from an outing ("doddy! doddy!")
7. Teasing Zoey with the tennis ball is almost, but not quite as fun as teasing her with Zwieback toast from the high chair.
8. The doggie will eat nearly anything and should be fed samples of everything available, as should the mommy. Repeatedly ("Mo! mo!").
9. The doggie can be chased for giggles, and will chase/bow/yap/kiss in return.
Here is what Tuck has figured out about dogs in the last week, by watching his sister:
1. It is fun to tease the doggie with Zwieback toast from your high chair.
However, Tuck has figured out many other important things this week, such as the fact that the conveyor belt at Safeway moves, how to climb into the toychest, how funny it is to try to stick toys into dad's ears, and how to get either mom or dad up from a nap in a hurry (slam baby gate into bedroom door, alarming them).
